What you need to make this Starbucks honey almond milk cold brew:
Cold brew coffee- you can use homemade cold brew, which if you have never made, is very simple.
Honey- What ever type of honey you have will work. Local organic honey is always best for the health benefits that come with it.
Ice Cubes
Water- filtered water
Almond Milk- I use plain almond milk but I’m sure vanilla would also be delicious. Just take into account the sweetness when you add your honey if you get the sweetened kind.
You can substitute almond milk for your milk of choice if you prefer. Oat milk, soy milk, coconut milk, dairy milk, all will work.
What you need to Make Cold brew at home:
French Press
Water
Course ground Coffee
What type of coffee should you use for this cold brew coffee recipe
You can use whatever type of coffee you have. I had some Starbucks beans that I ground up and used. If you don’t have a coffee bean grinder, most grocery stores have one in the coffee isle that you can use.
I made my cold brew in a French press, this is a great option for a simple and easy cold brew.
Put your coursely ground Starbucks coffee beans in your French press and fill it with water. Allow to sit in the refrigerator for 8-24 hours before you use. I like to make a bunch of cold brew to keep in a pitcher in my fridge so that I can make an iced coffee whenever I want!
You can use bottled, store bought cold brew or cold brew concentrate if you prefer.
How is Cold brew Made?
Cold brew coffee is usually made with course coffee grounds and cold water and about 8-24 hours of steeping time.
This slow, low temp brew makes cold brew taste very different from hot brewing even with the same type of coffee beans.
Why Cold Brew?
- Great to drink for its refreshing qualities, convenience, forgiving brew method, and health benefits
- Less acidic
- Lasts in the fridge for a long period of time

How to make this honey almondmilk cold brew coffee
Below I explain step by step how to make this honey almond milk cold brew at home
Step 1- Make your Honey syrup
In a small saucepan mix your honey and equal parts water. Heat until it starts to boil, remove from heat and stir until the honey has dissolved. This is basically a simple syrup but with honey instead of sugar.
If you put regular honey directly into your cold coffee it will harden and will not mix into your cold brew drink. Set honey blend aside to cool.
Step 2- Assemble your drink
Fill a glass or mason jar half way with ice cubes.
Pour in your honey mixture, leaving a small amount to add to your almond milk.
Next, pour your cold brew coffee into your glass.
Froth your almond milk and the rest of the honey syrup in your frother machine or use a hand frother if your have one. This step is totally optional. Starbucks does not froth the milk for this specific drink but I love me some cold foam!
This adds the beautiful layered look and for me steps it up a few levels on the deliciousness scale!
Step 3- Garnish the top
I like to top with a drizzle of honey for a little garnish, because who doesn’t like to act like a fancy barista sometimes lol.
Step 4- Enjoy!
And that’s it, simple, delicious and so refreshing. I love this delicious cold brew coffee because it I won’t throw you off your healthy lifestyle but it still feels like a real treat!

This drink is low calorie and doesn’t have any added sugars besides obviously the natural sugar in the honey. So Yes, this cold brew coffee drink it a great choice for someone who is trying to keep their calorie and sugar amount low.
I used a half cup of almond milk which is about 15 calories and 2 TBS. Honey which is about 120 calories. So for this entire drink your at about 135 calories, which in my opinion, is not bad at all!
As far as the caffeine content goes it will depend on the amount of coffee grounds you used when you brewed your coffee, but on average there is about 100 mg of caffeine in an 8 oz glass of cold brew coffee.
